Rationale of the Contest
The contest aims to promote awareness among kids on the harmful effects of smoking to the smoker, other people around him and the environment. Children with ages 7 to 12 years old are encouraged to express creatively their thoughts and ideas on the harmful effects of smoking.
Mechanics
- Who can join the contest?
- Kids with ages 7 to 12 years old can join the contest.
- Kids can submit to up (3) three entries as an individual or as a group with maximum of three members per group.
- An individual or group can submit multiple entries.
- All children of the Philippine Daily Inquirer and sister companies and their relatives up to the second degree of consanguinity and affinity ARE NOT eligible to join the contest.
- When is the duration of the contest?
The duration of the contest is from May 2, 2010 to July 25, 2010. Judging of entries will be from August 1 to 10, 2010. Winners will be announced on the August 15, 2010 issue of Junior Inquirer.
- How to join the contest?
- Kids must submit a drawing or painting that strongly opposes the habit of smoking.
- An entry can be a drawing or painting using traditional media like paint, pencil, pen, crayons, oil, etc. or digital media cusing photo editing software like Photoshop or Corel Draw or it could be a combination of both.
- All entries submitted should be original and have not been published or won in any contest.
- All entries should be accompanied by a caption or a slogan that promotes anti-smoking awareness.
- There should be no brand or company names used for the artwork.
- Entries must be placed on a 1/8 size of an illustration board with a half an inch border on all sides. Entries should have the following information written at the back of
the illustration board:
- Name(s) of the kid(s)
- Age
- School
- Complete Home Address
- Contact numbers
- All submitted entries shall become a property of the Philippine Daily Inquirer.
- How to submit the entry?
- Entries must be sent only through mail.
